A relaxed, hands-on introduction to sourdough with Chef Dawn — hosted at local North County wineries, breweries and wine bars.
Learn how to create, feed and maintain a sourdough starter while enjoying a drink and connecting with new people. You'll leave with active starter, your own dough to bake at home and the confidence to keep creating.
No experience required. Just come ready to mix, sip and have fun.
Sourdough doesn't have to be intimidating. Chef Dawn breaks the process down into simple, practical steps in a social setting where questions, conversation and imperfect dough are all welcome.
This is part cooking class, part night out and part permission to finally try the sourdough experience everyone is talking about.

How sourdough starter works
How to feed and maintain your starter
How to mix your first loaf
Stretching and folding techniques
How fermentation changes your dough
Shaping and scoring basics
How to bake confidently at home
What to do when your dough doesn't behave
Because sourdough fermentation takes time, Chef Dawn brings dough at several stages so you can see the entire process. You'll mix your own dough during class and finish baking it at home.
